Packaging
Lids, jars, measuring scoops and other forms of packaging are often made through plastic injection molding. An almost endless composition of shape, style, color and texture can be achieved with injection molding. Because of the repetitive nature of injection molding, large runs of nearly identical packaging can be made.
The most common plastics in this market are Polyethylene (PE) and Polypropylene (PP). These materials have a relatively low price. They are often softer, pliable, good chemical resistance and usable at lower temperatures. Also frequently used materials are polycarbonate, a transparent and hard plastic, and copolyesters such as Tritan that are Bisphenol A (BPA) free.
